# Pre-register expected source kinds

> Requires `onboarding_admin` + CSRF. Creates placeholder `sources` rows (kind plus a default name, no credentials) for the connector kinds the tenant expects to use -- `file_upload`, `s3`, `database`, or `kafka` -- so the tenant admin does not have to name each one from scratch later. Returns 422 on any unrecognized kind. Real source registration (with credentials) still happens client-side via `POST /sources`.
